Gunwalloe (Church Cove and Dollar Cove)

Situated a short distance away from Helston, the village of Gunwalloe has two beaches; Church Cove and Dollar Cove. Both are accessed by the same road and share the same facilities which include a National Trust car park as well as a cafe and toilets which are both open during the summer season.

Church Cove is a sandy beach, popular with families. It is probably best known for the quaint church of St Winwaloe which sits on the cliff next to the beach.

Neighbouring Dollar Cove is a pebble beach which acquired its name after a number of coins were found washed ashore, thought to come from a ship which wrecked off the coast around 1780.

Dogs are banned from Church Cove from Easter Day until the beginning of October between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

Dogs are however permitted on Dollar Cove all year round.

RNLI lifeguard cover is daily between 6th July and 8th September.
